Hi! my name is Wouter and I am currently doing my master thesis in the Giuntoli group. I obtained my bachelor degree in chemistry at the RuG in 2021. Now, I am pursuing my master degree in chemistry in Groningen too. My main fields of expertise are in polymer chemistry and supramolecular chemistry. After doing multiple projects experimentally in the lab, I wanted to diversify my skills. By studying the issues from a theoretical standpoint, I can finally put my physics theory to practice, improve my programming skills and actually see the molecules I am working on (even if they are coarse-grained). In my project I am studying charged star polymers that self-assemble into micelles. By means of coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations the effect of oppositely charged linear chains is investigated.
